Marine Stainless 316 Decking Screws

Used in architectural and marine environments Marine Grade Stainless Steel 316 (also known as SS316, G316, A4 or A4-70) has also found a useful place amongst decking screws. Its increased percentage of Nickel and the introduction of 2-3% Molybdenum give it increased corrosion resistance compared to SS304, to corrosion caused by chlorides. That means that if you are building in a corrosive salt environment you need to look for higher resistance. Decks being built by the beach should look at 316 Grade for longer lasting protection.
